University of Alabama and

Apart from college football, members of the Christian Student Centers from both Auburn University (ACSC) and the University of Alabama (UCSC) got along very well at the occasional opportunity to mingle. These photos from a couple of retreats at Cheaha provide a good starting point. (Many people on this page, especially the mostly ACSC crowd in the shots below, I also knew from WCYC.) The UCSC fellowship provided a challenging spiritual environment. During my undergrad days (late 1970’s) ministers Kenneth Reed, Joe Woods, and Tom Caldwell directed a vigorous and sometimes controversial phase related to evangelistic strategies and techniques from Gainesville’s Crossroads church. Though my views have since changed greatly (more on this), I remain deeply thankful for good relationships formed in this setting, and during my later graduate work. |
