Airboat ride near the Everglades

Pittsburgh
The main point of the trip was to see Glen Hansard and
Marketa Irglova performing the "Swell Season" tour, rooted in music from
the film "Once." No pics from the concert, but here are other shots from
the Zoo and around the city.

Steelers fans' enthusiasm — well — you judge for yourself.

Millie Koenig now owns one of the houses where Jan grew up.

Uh, excuse me — please, no pictures today —
Look, don't make me come out there.
All I ask is a little privacy for a while— |
|
Really, dude, you're buggin' me.
I mean it.
SCRAM. |

ALRIGHT, bucko, you asked for it...
Urrgghh — I need
some excitement
—
|
Whoa — yeah —
feel the burn, baby — |
OK, that'll do
for
today. |

("Pssst — Larry — you, ehh, may
not wanna drink there —
you, uh, don't wanna know what Ralph is doing upstream.")

Hmmm — duhheyuh, should I eat this now? Save
it for later?
Eat it now? Save it for later? Eat it now? Daahhheyuhh...

Ehh, go ahead, punk, take the damn picture.
You get to my age and you won't care either.
Anyhow, just unlock that door for a few seconds
and I could still come
down there and
whop your little homo sapien butt.

Smithfield United Church of Christ
Pittsburgh's oldest religious congregation
was established in 1782 as a German Evangelical Protestant church. Their
present building, officially opened in 1927, features a steeple as the
first use of architectural aluminum.

Joe Mama's
University of Pittsburgh, Cathedral of Learning

The third floor features a variety
of "cultural classrooms." Each is designed by an architect of the
country the room represents. Each offers a toggle switch that plays a
recording, describing the cultural elements making up the room. We visited
maybe nine or ten rooms. These are actual working classrooms, not just
display areas.
